We
are very exited about now having a Florida clinic, to be held in
St. Petersburg, October 25 - 28, 2007. It is our intention to have
a distinct energy and feel to each cinic - the Florida and Arizona
clinics will have, to a large extent, a different group of coaches.
Don Wakamatsu, Rangers' 3rd base coach and catching
instructor, will organize the daily schedule for both clinics. To
date, the following coaches have given their verbal commitment to
attend the Florida clinic : catching instructor Don Wakamatsu (Rangers),
pitching coaches Chuck Hernandez (Tigers) and Bob Apodaca (Rockies), hitting
coaches Joe Lefebve (Giants) and Orv Franchuk (Astros hitting coordinator),
infield instructor Rob Picciolo (roving, Angels) and outfield instructor
Lee Tinsley (Diamondbacks).
Almost all the Arizona coaches are expected to return.
I expect Brook Jacoby, Cincinnati Reds hitting coach, to join the
staff.
At the Florida clinic, we will be staying at the
Radisson. I have arranged free shuttle transportation to and from
the Tampa airport and the hotel and to and from the hotel to the
baseball complex. Bottom line, no need to rent a car!
Spots for next year's clinic are filling
up fast, so I suggest you get in your $500 deposit asap assure your
place. As always, I will promise to keep the ratio of players to
coaches small to ensure individualized instruction. Remember, you
get $200 off for every player you recruit.
