Do I have to be a good ballplayer to come to the clinic?

Absolutely not. All you need is a sincere love of the game and a desire to learn how to play better baseball from some of the best teachers in the game today. However, many of the participants will probably be playing in either the MSBL (Men's Senior Baseball League) or NABA (National Adult Baseball Association), so some will be in pretty good baseball shape.

If you haven't played baseball in a while (and I do NOT mean softball), I strongly suggest you begin throwing every day to get your arm and shoulder in shape. Play catch with someone or just throw a rubber baseball against a wall. I cannot overemphasize the importance of just throwing a baseball. Also, start a daily regimen of lower extremity stretching, including the adductors (groin). The last thing you'll want to do is throw out your arm or pull a hamstring or groin on the first (or any) day of the clinic.

What is the cost?

The cost for the 4 day instructional clinic is $2795 (double occupancy, including hotel and all meals). If you want a single room, it's an additional $450 (Radisson group rate). You may secure your spot with a $500 deposit made out to Voice Doctor, Inc. Your remaining fee must be paid by 9-25-07. After 9-25-07, hotel accommodations and group rates are not guaranteed. If rooms are available, they will be priced at Radisson's regular seasonal rate. Payment may be made by personal check, cashier's check or money order. If your check is returned for any reason, you will be charged an additional $50 fee, and you will then will be required to pay via cashier's check or money order.

If you get in your deposit before 7-31-07, you will receive a $300 "early bird" discount (this applies only to first-time Pro Ball participants & only at the FL location)

For every new player you refer who becomes a fully paid participant, you will receive a $200 credit.... so bring a friend! The special referral fee offered to all attendees at the January 2007 clinic will apply to both the FL and AZ clinics. You may use that discount for yourself or split it with the person you referred. Make sure your name is mentioned as the referral source when that person registers on-line.

Anyone who attends both the FL and AZ clinics will get an additional $500 discount. This discount will be applied to your AZ clinic fee.

Can I request a roommate?

If you want to room with a specific player, let us know in the registration form and all efforts will be made to see that your request is met. Make sure you guys talk about rooming together before completing the form to avoid any confusion.

What should I bring?

It is suggested that you bring two pair of baseball pants, a cup, a couple of baseball undershirts, at least one baseball shirt and a pair of spikes. The more equipment you have, the better. Devil Rays’ clubhouse attendants will do all your baseball-related laundry.

Of course, bring as many gloves you like, depending on what positions you want to work on. We strongly suggest you bring your own bats (metal or wood) and helmets. We will have some bats and helmets as well. All baseballs are provided.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be received in writing. It is strongly advised that they be sent via certified mail. Cancellations must be sent in writing to the following address:

Pro Ball Baseball Clinic
c/o Voice Doctor, Inc.
2759 Creston Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90068

Due to the unique nature of this baseball clinic and the administrative costs involved, any participant who cancels prior to 7-30-07 will incur a non-refundable charge of $250. Any participant who cancels after 7-30-07 will incur a non-refundable charge of $500. There will be no refund for any participant who cancels after 9-15-07. There are NO exceptions to the above stated policies. At the discretion of management, if you must cancel, you may be given credit towards participation in the following year's clinic. If you are concerned about not being able to attend for any reason (e.g., injury, family circumstances, etc.), it is strongly suggested that you take out travel insurance.
