The Pro Ball Baseball Clinic completed its 5th year in January of 2007.
Every year, primarily through word of mouth, the clinic has grown
in popularity. Quite simply, there is no other baseball camp
for the adult player that offers personalized, one-on-one instruction
from current Big League coaches.
I will always strive to make your 4 days at the clinic the best possible
baseball experience. We added video analysis last January and plan on
incorporating it as a formal station next to the hitting tunnels. We
also added optional situational games in the afternoon which stressed
more fundamentals like cut-offs and relays.
What makes this camp so special is that you get individual instruction
from the coaches. This happens because of the ratio of participants to
coaches is kept small. At the January 2007 clinic, there was 1 coach
for every 5 players. I cannot guarantee that same ratio every year, but
I will promise not to let the camp get too big.
In that vein, we will have our first fall instructional clinic in St.
Petersburg, Florida. It will be held October 25 - 28, 2007 at the Tampa
Bay Devil Rays spring training complex. I have invited several new coaches
for the Florida clinic, including hitting coaches Don Mattingly (Yankees)
and Dave Magadan (Red Sox) and pitching coaches Chuck Hernandez (Detroit
Tigers) and Bob Apodaca (Colorado Rockies) - both pitching coaches have
personally told me that they plan on teaching at the Florida clinic.
Every coach who taught at the Arizona clinic in January of 2007 has
expressed a desire to return for the next Arizona clinic, to be held
January 10 - 13, 2008 at the Peoria Sports Complex (Padres spring training
facility)
The biggest compliment that I can share is that guys keep coming back
year after year. When you combine great baseball instruction with wonderful
camaraderie, it just makes for a very special experience.
If you have passion for the game and want to improve your baseball skills,
no matter your adult age of level of play, you have come to the right
place. If you have any questions about the two clinics, feel free to
call me at 323-333-8798.
