What Are the Skills Levels of the Players?

The Advanced Skills Clinic, December 16-19, 2010, is specifically geared for more experienced player with good baseball skills. Unless you consider yourself a good player, I would suggest you sign up for the Fundamentals Clinic, January 14-17, 2011. If you have not previously attended the Pro Ball Baseball Clinic and you want to attend the Advanced Skills Clinic, please email us with your baseball background or call John Rubinow at 323-333-8798. Our goal is to place you in the clinic that will best serve your baseball needs. You shouldn't be intimidated by this clinic, but you should be at an advanced skill level to attend. This clinic will be like a real spring training. Your skills will be tested by these Major League coaches.

For the Fundamentals Clinic, January 14-17, 2011, you don't need to be an advanced player. All ll you need is a sincere love of the game and a desire to improve what baseball skills you possess. You will learn from some of the best baseball teachers in the world. Some of the participants play in organized leagues (e.g., MSBL, NABA, Roy Hobbs, etc), while others have not played baseball in quite a while. Some attend to gain baseball knowledge that they can pass on to their kids, while others are high school and youth baseball coaches.

If you haven't played baseball in a while (and I do NOT mean softball), I strongly suggest you begin throwing every day to get your arm and shoulder in shape. Play catch with someone or just throw a hard rubber baseball against a wall.

I cannot overemphasize the importance of just repeating the throwing motion to build up the shoulder musculature. Also, start a daily regimen of upper & lower extremity stretching, including the adductors (groin) and your glutes. The last thing you'll want to do is throw out your arm or pull a hamstring or groin during your four days at the clinic.

Remember to take it easy the first day. I promise that you will get your fill of baseball over the four days. You will probably swing the bat more than you ever have before in a 4-day span. Don't go out there and blister your hands the first day. Pace yourself.

What is the cost and payment arrangement?

The 4-day Advanced Skills Clinic and the 4-day Fundamentals Clinic each costs $2795.The clinic price includes hotel (double occupancy) and all meals. You are responsible for all travel-related costs. If you want a single room, there will be an additional charge of $550.

Space is very limited, as there is a large percentage of repeat participants every year. I strongly suggest you secure your spot as early as possible to avoid being shut out. Before signing up for the Advanced Skills Clinic, please email us with your baseball experience or call John Rubinow at 323-333-8798.
